Further information:

Contactless is a fast, easy and secure way to pay for any purchase under £30, tapping your card on the card reader is becoming increasingly common practice around the world.

All new cards and replacements are now contactless. To order a new contactless card follow the 'order a replacement card' process.

We realised that not everyone is keen on the idea of contactless cards for 8-18 year olds so we created a switch within the app that allows parents to switch contactless payments on and off, so they can decide when young people are ready for the technology 🙂

Please note that only the parent on the account can control the contactless feature.

Tips when using contactless

TfL and other transport providers don't currently support child fares with contactless cards. Please use your Zip card or child ticket to be charged the correct fare.
Tfl will accept the Osper card even when contactless is disabled.

If you lose your Osper Card it is important to lock the card as soon as possible. This can be done from the ‘More’ tab under Card Lock/Lost Card. Both young people and parents can lock the card. This will block all usage of the card (including contactless).

Controlling the contactless switch

To turn Contactless on or off just follow these steps:

  1. Log in as the parent account holder and tap the ‘More’ tab in the menu along the bottom of the screen.
  2. Scroll down to 'Contactless' button and tap it.
  3. Tap the switch to turn contactless off or on.
